CMS' STATE RANKINGS 2023-2024
The disparity in achievement among Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools 4th grades is maddening but explains that CMS can have both the state's best and worst high school graduation rates. Three high schools have greater than 95% graduation rates while it also has the #1,2,3,4 worst in the state. The #1 worst was also #1 worst the previous year.
Those bottom four aren't bad high schools. CMS's K-8 schools are sending too many students not prepared to survive 9th or 10th grade let alone graduate. Like the Lottery's moto, if you can't read you can't win!

HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATIONS
Statewide there are 147 Traditional non-charter high schools with graduating class sizes of 250 or greater. 19 of those achieved greater than 95% graduations and were rated "TOP". The rankings for the rest numerical starting with #20 and ending at lowly #147.
